LITTLE TREE STUDIO

Jae Shaw has been an artist since 1987 and currently works from her studio 'Little Tree' in Chelsea, Quebec. Educated in art at the University of Ottawa, The Ottawa School of Art, and St. Lawrence College, she owned and operated Oxford Mills Art Centre and Art Link for 13 years, teaching in her studio, municipal centres, and public schools. She is a past member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour and a past Fellow of the Ottawa Watercolour Society.

Jae paints in all media, embroiders with beads, and uses her iPad to create books and images. Although she explores various themes in her art, trees are her favourite subject. The name of her studio 'Little Tree', inspired by the book The Education of Little Tree, symbolizes hope, growth and the beauty of the natural world. 10% of all sales is donated to Tree Canada (treecanada.ca).
